Eternal Con finds a new home at Nassau Coliseum
This was my first Eternal Con, so I really don’t have a past experience to compare it to. But I gotta say, I really had a great time.
In past years, Eternal Con was held at Cradle of Aviation Museum, but with Nassau Coliseum being redone, it was a great venue to have it in.
It was held in the basement level. I felt the set up was perfect. Plenty of room to move around and see everything. I was there on Sat, and even with the large number of people, it didn’t feel crowded. I’m never a fan of a con when it’s wall to wall people.
The celebrates were against wall and it was a good set up for them. The artist area was in back. There wasn’t enough known comic talent for my tastes, but that didn’t stop me from having a good time.
Vendors were plentiful. And they weren’t all the same type. Really cool stuff to drop some cash on.
Programming was diverse, to say the least. From a history of Captain Marvel, to an overview on Neal Adams, to how to make your own comics. Seriously interesting stuff going on.
There were kids events too like a Jedi Academy and the Ghostbusters.
I usually try to avoid trips to Long Island, but Eternal Con really made it worth the trip.
I can’t wait to check it out next year.
