The Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards will be presented on the evening of Saturday, September 23, 2017 as part of the fan- and pro-favorite convention, The Baltimore Comic-Con. The Ringo Awards is currently in the midst of the 2017 nomination process, which is inclusive of fans and comic book professionals alike. Please submit your nominations.

Nomination Deadline Extension
 
Due to a steady and growing influx of nominations, as word of our inaugural awards spreads through the comics professional and fan communities, we are extending our original voting deadline to midnight on July 24, 2017. Professional voting on the final ballot is still slated to be available starting on July 26th. A press release will announce the final ballot at the start of pro voting.

“We saw an immediate burst of voting after we made our debut,” said Marc Nathan, Baltimore Comic-Con promoter. “Since then, we have seen fans promoting their favorites, pros promoting their works, and now publishers have jumped into the fray hyping their titles and creators. It’s been great to see readers and the industry embrace this effort so completely, and we’re really excited to see how the final ballot comes out!”

About Mike Wieringo

Michael Lance “Mike” Wieringo was known to fans and friends as “Ringo”, which is how he signed his artwork. His comics artist graced the pages of DC Comics’ The FlashAdventures of SupermanBatman, and Robin, Marvel Comics’ Fantastic FourFriendly Neighborhood Spider-ManSensational Spider-Man, and Rogue, and his co-creation Tellos. He passed away on August 12, 2007 at the young age of 44 from an apparent heart attack.
