LOS ANGELES, CA (August 21, 2012) – The Hero Initiative, the charitable organization dedicated to helping veteran comic creators in medical or financial need, is rolling in to the Windy City in a huge way.
Hero will be at booth #1340 at Wizard World Chicago at the Rosemont Convention Center from August 8-11. Hero is the ONLY place fans can find artists Gene Ha (Top 10, Batman) and Andrew Pepoy (Fables, Spider-Man). In addition, artist Jim Brozman (Dick Tracy) will be appearing at both the Hero booth and the Graham Crackers Comics booth.
Hero will be on the ground with exclusive merchandise as well. Hero’s Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #43 features an exclusive cover by artist Terry Moore depicting his Strangers in Paradise characters, Francine and Katchoo, as Wonder Woman and Zatanna. The hardcover exclusive is limited to only 500 copies, and carries a price of $35.
And Hero has scored a major hit with its Ballistic #1 variant. The new reality-bending series from writer Adam Egypt Mortimer and artist Darick Robertson is already sold out from distributors, but Hero has a 500-copy exclusive with a new cover by Robertson available at only $10.
