HalloweenComicFest2013wdate_200x200Stride Rite, the leading children’s footwear brand, has signed on as a sponsor of the 2nd annual Halloween ComicFest, which is a family-friendly event where participating comic shops celebrate Halloween with free comics, a costume contest, and other activities. Taking place on the weekend before Halloween, October 26th and 27th, Halloween ComicFest is a great day for kids to get free comics and have fun with the Halloween holiday.

2013 marks the second year for Halloween ComicFest, which was a huge success among comic and Halloween fans. With this year’s combination of free Halloween-themed mini and full length comics, “The Greatest Halloween Costume Contest Ever” and participating comic shops hosting their own special events during the weekend, Halloween ComicFest is anticipated to turn into a pre-Halloween tradition!

SRite_color_logo_larger“Stride Rite is excited to be a part of introducing new fans to not only comics but also to Stride Rite through their local comic book store. We are also encouraging kids to see & be seen this Halloween”, said Stride Rite’s Brand Communications Manager, Malinda Freitas “Children need to be seen as they trick-or-treat from home to home and our light-up sneakers can help make it fun and keep them safe.”

As a Halloween ComicFest sponsor, Stride Rite’s national “Trick or Feet” campaign will be advertised in eleven free mini comics available during the event. “Trick or Feet” encourages kids to “see and be seen” on Halloween by wearing flashing, light up shoes for safety. Kids can light up the night and complete their costume in their favorite Stride Rite character shoes from Star Wars™, Marvel, Disney Princess, Disney Baby, Sesame Street and many more.

“We’re pleased to partner with Stride Rite in order to spread the message about safe trick or treating, along with other positive actions such as passing out comics as a healthy alternative to candy,” said Diamond Comic Distributor’s Marketing Director Dan Manser. “We welcome Stride Rite’s sponsorship to help build our family friendly event.”
