Toy Review: The Walking Dead’s RV Walker 7 inch vinyl figure (Funko)

It seems as though Funko is firing on all cylinders any more.  Snapping up licenses left and right for it’s Pop! Vinyl collection.  And now?  They’re deepening their Walking Dead line (based on the über successful  AMC show)with a new assortment of 7 inch vinyl figures.

The designs of these new figures are actually based off of some of Funko’s previously released 2.5 inch blind boxed “Mystery Mini” figures.  Included in the new larger size assortment are Daryl Dixon, Prison Guard Walker and RV Walker.

Fortune smiled kindly on your friendly neighborhood jman, as I managed to get my hands on the RV Walker figure.  He’s a funny fella, Mr. RV Walker.  Who knew that a screw driver through the eye socket could make a zombie so popular!

Don’t get any ideas at home, kids.  Popularity isn’t everything.

Much like Funko’s other offerings (and most other vinyl figures out there), there’s not too much in the way of articulation, for Mr. RV Walker.  His head turns, and…that’s about it.

But, folks like us aren’t buying Funko stuff for the articulation, now are we?  What you and I like love about Funko?  They’re sometimes “cute”, always stylized interpretations of characters of all types.  To which, Mr. RV Walker (and the rest of the 7 inch assortment) is no exception.

From his oversized hands and feet, to that large, white, dead eye (not to mention the screwdriver jammed in the socket of the other blood red eye) Mr. RV Walker is everything that we come to love about Funko’s offerings.  Only…larger.

The figures come in a nice window box, if you’re the type that keeps his/her/it’s toys in their packaging.  Which, is a crime against humanity, but that’s between you and your god(s).  I like my toys, like I like my chickens.  Free range.

Whatever that means.

The 7 inch line retails for 14.99.  Not a bad price to pay, considering the price of action figures (and toys, in general) these days.
