For 2014, Funko continues to deliver cool stuff to the masses, as well as, branch out into new territories.  Allison Nehls was kind enough to take us around Funko’s showroom at Toy Fair 2014.  Check out what she had to say, while feasting your eyes on some pretty pics…

Funko’s expanding their 2 inch blind box line with a new assortment of Walking Dead figures and adding…Marvel(!!!) to the lineup.

Also new to the world is the line called Fabrikcations.  A line of “soft sculptures” that are about 5 inches high with rotating heads.  The initial assortment including Batman (of course). Deadpool (duh), Yoda, Boba Fett, Harley Quinn and a surprising appearance by Greedo!

Another interesting addition to Funko’s catalog are Vinyl3 figures.  These 2 inch DC figures have interchangeable magnetic parts.  The best part, though?!?!? They’re not blind boxed!  So you can get the figures you really want, without crying every time you get a repeater.

Of course, their Pop! Line continues to grow.  This year adding (but not limited to) Teen Titans Go!Amazing Spider-man 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ghostbusters and Pulp Fiction?!?!?

The Pop! Rides line expands, as well.  Adding Marty McFly and the DeLorean Time Machine, Scarface with his awesome ride (not pictured) and Winston in the ECTO-1 (not pictured).

Funko also continues to build on it’s partnership with Gentle Giant studios with a new wave of Legacy Collection Game of Thrones figures.  And…adding new lines like the Fantastic Mr. Fox (picture below) and Magic:  the Gathering.

If I may digress for a moment here, I don’t know much about Magic:  the Gathering.  But, these figures?  They are impressive!

Branching further out into the world of action figures, Funko worked in conjunction with Super 7 on the Aliens Re-Action line.  Spreading that concept across more 80’s properties like Escape from New York (yea…you read that right.  Snake Plissken, baby!), Predator and the Goonies.

Also new for 2014 are Hikari Japanese Vinyl figures.  Made of “sofubi vinyl” (kind of a softer, squishy vinyl for all of us not in the know out there) the line starts off with Batman and TMNT.  What’s really neat about it is the packaging, There’s an LED light built in (that turn off and on) that shines on your new figure.  You know what that means, don’t you?  You’re not supposed to take it out of the packaging.

All that being said, what are your friendly neighborhood jman’s pick?  Without a doubt…Fabrikations and Vinyl3.  Not only can’t I wait to get my hands on that Harley Quinn Fabrikation figure, but I think I’m going to pick up Greedo, too!
