2014 MoCCA Arts Festival to Feature Hundreds of Cartoonists, Debut Books, and Featured Artists including Drew Friedman, Chip Kidd, Françoise Mouly, Art Spiegelman, Adrian Tomine, and more!

The Society of Illustrators is poised to welcome a world-class list of comics artists, illustrators, and graphic artists to the 2014 MoCCA Arts Festival on April 5 – 6. In addition to previously announced Guests of Honor Alison Bechdel, Howard Cruse, Fiona Staples, Robert Williams, and International Special Guests Marion Fayolle, Joost Swarte, and Brecht Vandenbroucke, the MoCCA Arts Fest will feature artists and exhibitors including graphic designer Chip Kidd, groundbreaking Belgian artist Frederic Coché, cartoonist and illustrator Drew Friedman, New Yorker Art Editor and TOON Books publisher Françoise Mouly, animator Bill Plympton, Israeli cartoonist Nimrod Reshef, Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Art Spiegelman, and cartoonist and illustrator Adrian Tomine, among others.

A host of cartoonists including Sam Alden, Gabrielle Bell, Michael DeForge, Kim Deitch, Chuck Forsman, Kevin “KAL” Kallaugher, Miriam Katin, James Kochalka, Peter Kuper, Dash Shaw, and many more will be exhibiting and signing books at the Festival.

In all, the MoCCA Arts Festival will feature 216 exhibitors, encompassing 27 publishers and more than 1,000 individual artists.

Books debuting at the Festival will include Buddy Buys a Dump by Peter Bagge (Fantagraphics), Over Easy by Mimi Pond (Drawn and Quarterly), Operation Margerine by Katie Skelly (AdHouse Books), Neurocomic by Hana Ros and Matteo Farinella (Nobrow), The Undertaking of Lily Chen by Danica Novgorodoff (First Second), All Star by Jessie Lonergan (NBM), Climate Changed by Phillippe Squarzoni (Abrams ComicArts), World War 3 Illustrated: 1979-2014 (PM Press), War of Streets and Houses by Sophie Yanow (Uncivilized Books). The 2014 MoCCA Arts Festival will be held on the weekend of April 5 – 6, 2014 at the 69th Regiment Armory in Manhattan, running from 11:00am to 6:00pm each day. Tickets for the Festival will be available to purchase at the door for a flat fee of $5 per day.
