John Layman continues to weave this crossover epic.

Last issue left off with Judge Dredd being caught by Dr. Reinstot’s ani-men (human/animal spliced thugs) to be experimented on using xenomorph DNA. In the midst of the madness, Dredd is caught in the middle of an extraterrestrial death match between the ani-men, xenomorphs, and predators. Will Dredd stop Reinstot before he successfully achieves his sinister goals? What is Archbishop Emoji planning behind the scenes? What will happen to Judge Anderssen and what new alliances will be forged in the midst of all the chaos?

Layman consistently keeps the story exciting and entertaining. He truly does a good job at making any longtime dredd fan or new fans feel as though xenomorphs and predators are a natural fit in the world of dredd. Chris Mooneyham’s art is great in this issue. Just seeing a xenomorphs Judge face off against a predator-esque Xenomorph is awesome to see. Michael Atiyeh’s colors blends well with Mooneyham’s pencils and inks, further cementing the kind of tone of the book as well as the volumes and contrasts between each of the characters and environments. The rest of the team on this book continues to make the book a fun read amongst all the dark and bloody content. It’s great to see these crossovers more often, just reminds me of the mid to late 90s crossovers where characters just faced off and made up for fun stories. While Batman is teaming up with the Ninja Turtles, its good to see other characters have their own crossover stories as well.  Definitely pick this issue up and collect the other prior issues of this 4 part series. Its  definitely a fun worthwhile crossover.
