Captain Action Enterprises, LLC is proud to announce the addition of Michael Polis to the management team.
Captain Action, the world’s first superhero action figure, burst onto the scene in the 60s but has been enjoying a modern day rebirth with new comics, apparel and collectibles. The recent toy line, manufactured by Round 2, was a co-licensing effort with Marvel Entertainment and was sold in Toys R Us, on-line and comic shops domestically.
Michael Polis through his company Atomic Toybox Entertainment., has invested in the property along with co-founders Ed Catto and Joe Ahearn as a vehicle for entertainment including television and other media. A longtime producer and industry innovator, Michael is best known for his expertise in creating content and strategies for brands and intellectual property. Nominated for 4 Emmy Awards, he has produced award-winning content for film, television and digital media for properties such as Neil Gaiman’s Mirrormask, Kermit’s Swamp Years, and Yo Gabba Gabba!
Polis is also engaged through his Los Angeles based Atomic Toybox Entertainment Inc., production company for the development of new television projects for the global market on behalf of Pukeko Pictures, an independent entertainment production company and sister company to Weta Workshop, focused on the development and production of excellent quality multi-platform entertainment for a global audience.
“As a long time fan of the property, I see tremendous potential in the brand,” said Michael Polis.
Captain Action originated in the United States, but enjoyed great successes internationally. Recently, CAE licensed a very successful limited edition Ultra Man costume with Medicom Toy for the international market.
“We’re excited that Michael has bought into the business and is now officially part of the team,” said Captain Action Enterprises’ co-founder Ed Catto.
Captain Action Enterprises is planning several different entertainment and licensing initiatives across multiple media platforms.
