“Life’s no fun without a good scare.” -This Is Halloween

Each of the cartoons in Brian Coldrick’s collection is a snapshot of something just about to become terrifying. It’s that delicious moment, frozen in time, before everything goes horribly wrong.

The captions are a few lines of text at most, but they tell us exactly as much as we need to know to make us fearful for their poor doomed subjects. We can see the thing behind them, but they never will.

This is a book best read long past Midnight, under the single light left lit in your home.

October is a time for fear and nightmares, and this book delivers both in full measure.
