Dark Horse’s Doctor Star returns for its second issue, and it’s a good one! Briefly, here’s why it’s so good:

Doctor Star, the surprisingly heart-tugging tale of a scientist turned superhero, gets deeper in the second issue. Present day: Star’s son is dying of cancer, just like his wife did years ago. The back story reveals more about the Star family’s struggles. Star, obsessed years ago with furthering his career, seizes an opportunity to do just that, and leaves his young family behind for an exploratory adventure. But things go wrong, and the family is never the same. Nor is Star.

By turns exhilarating and touching, this comic is a real grabber. I really recommend this one!

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
