Once again, I’m just an SDCC JAFO

Another Comic-Con came and went, as once again I was unable to attend. I’ve never been to Comic-Con. It’s not that I don’t want to. It’s more of other factors in my life. It happens. I’d love to go and see it. I do hear that’s it’s a zoo, but a fun zoo. Hopefully, before I die, I’ll make it out there.

Like a lot of people, I’m watching the news coming out of Comic-Con. In a lot of cases, because I’m a news site, I get a lot of the PR, after it’s been announced. So, I’m still in the know.

I’m still processing a lot that came out of Comic-Con, and I wanted to share some thought of mine that really stuck out:

  • Aquaman and Shazam! Movies – Amazing! Both look a lot better than I thought and I can’t wait to see both of them!
  • Uncanny X-Man Returns to Comics – This isn’t a shocker at all. With the Disney buyout of some of Fox entertainment properties, it was only a matter of time. Though if Disney wasn’t such dicks about this in the first place, it wouldn’t have needed to happen.
  • DC Universe Actions Figures by Mattel – Wow! These look like crap. The face sculpts are horrible, which is a damn shame, because there are so many characters coming out that I want. This is not the work of the Four Horsemen.
  • Grant Morrison on Green Lantern – You know how I feel…moving on
  • Titans – I’m still on the fence on this one. The entire “Fuck Batman” thing just to set a more mature theme is hack writing. And Starfire just looks God awful. Pathetic when cosplayers attending Comic-Con can do a better Starfire than a major television studio
  • Marvel – No Marvel movies this year at SDCC which sucked. Looking forward to Iron Fist Season 2 on Netflix. Still don’t give a crap about their comics.
  • LEGO James Bond Aston Martin – It has an ejector seat? Oh hell yes!!
  • Mezco – One:12 Collective is going strong, but not a fan of all the characters they are making. We’ll see
  • DC Universe Channel – New Young Justice episodes at only $7.99 a month? I’M IN!
  • Captain Action – A Rocketeer pack. Yes please!
  • Disney firing James Gunn – This one is still something I’m thinking about. Maybe be something for another editorial.

SDCC is a true overload of information but these were the top ones that stayed with me.

In any case, it looks like it was another successful Comic-Con. Can’t wait until next years!
