For 5 bucks, get a hundred pages of comic, as DC Comics works with US Walmart stores. It’s Superman Giant, issue 4!

On the cover, we see Superman and Shazam get into it. A clash of the supermen!!

Inside, the new content is a chapter written by Tom King with art by Andy Kubert (pencils), Sandra Hope (inker) and Brad Anderson on colors. Superman is allowing a zeta beam to enter him, so he can track down Alice, a missing girl. His search, or quest, is interspersed here with Superman’s moments as Clark, and his interactions with Wonder Woman. Never a dull moment when you’re Superman!

It’s a nicely played chapter, actually. It manages to summarize Superman’s legacy and his struggles, and boil them all down into simple concepts that are ideal for new readers of the comic. Well played, and nicely illustrated.

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
