Here’s the story, of a couple of sisters, and their mom, and they were quite acquainted with hell… here comes Exorsisters, issue 2 from Image.
Okay, so they’re not two of The Brady Bunch, that much is obvious. But this ongoing tale of Cate and Kate Harrow and their mom will grow on you. Sinister scenes of mystery for the sisters to solve. To me, this second issue is a vast improvement in storytelling drama and intensity from the first issue, which felt a little flat and (sorry) lifeless. But no more, hey, happy days of hell are here again! Issue 2 abounds!
Ian Boothby writes great dialogue here, and his scenes of sisterhood-meets-evil-everywhere is loads of fun to read. Artist Gisèle Lagacé, with Pete Pantazis on colours, brings a brilliant energy to the forefront. Her characters are well defined, with just enough detail to sell the sizzle but not spoil the flavour.
This issue delves into the backstory of the sisters, and how they came to be. Plus, how they came to be uh… very close.
Read this issue: strong story, strong art, and a strong smell of satan. Pick it up at your local bricks, fire, mortar, and brimstone comic shop!
