Dark Horse Comics proudly presents your favorite Spartan soldier boy of the most popular video game of Sony PlayStation in God of War on its first issue.

Now you have played a lot of God of War games, so why not just make a comic book series instead? You know, many gamers and fans had opened themselves up for seeing the hype of this game. Just like the Killer Instinct comic on Dynamite was crazy enough for the fans to read and play the arcade game, this comic will be mind-blowing for the readers. And the story just takes place on the latest sequel of God of War on the PS4 or should I say, God of War 2018, because the game is not really the remake for the old God of War in 2005, so it’s safer to say that the franchise had changed.

To be honest, I’ve never played the God of War games, but barely watched one of the E3 videos on YouTube. So I’ll be brief with the plot, just like the plot of the PS4 game. Kratos has ended up in the world of Norse mythology, after the events of God of War III, so he lives somewhere in the snowy land with his son, Atreus. And as for that this first issue is the prologue before the game had started, Atreus’ mother is still alive but doesn’t know about her whereabouts, probably she’s minding her own business hunting for food. But as for Kratos, he goes to the woods to find a worthy challenge, even though, the land is at peace, so there are no enemies around, but he finds animals to hunt. However, he didn’t want to go berserk in the past few battles, so he has to control his rage. The first enemy that he faced is some albino half human who turned into a bear who’s ripping the flesh out of an old man. Will Kratos survive through the day of hunting?

No matter how you read, it’s still the same game from the PS4, so there’s nothing much to say, except for the art. Actually, the art is made by Tony Parker, and whenever you see the art on this comic is slightly detailed, and the character designs looked as much like the game itself. The character and the monster movements are slightly going for a lot of action, however, some of the characters can be intimidating, but for Kratos, he has to keep his rage for everything in order to survive. Most of all the characters were taken from Greek mythology, as for that Kratos is still a Spartan warrior in another world, there are albino humans dressed like bears. And the world that the game made, it’s more like taking you to an alternative world if I’m not mistaken, but of course, it’s the Norse mythology, in other words, Germanic mythology where the world is taken you to a fantasy place and where the gods have triumph the world. And as for that, THIS is the first God of War comic book series that ever released, if you ever want to experience reading this just like the game, then this is for you.
