DC Collectibles DC Artist Alley designer vinyl line is taking everyone by storm with some sweet looking variants to DC’s most iconic characters.

Chris Uminga’s interpretation of The Flash as a zombie works very well with his art style. He has spent the last ten years developing an art style that is very unique blending both creepy and cute. As you can see from the stance that he gave Flash it is very much inspired by a mixture of Saturday morning cartoons mixed with graffiti style art.

First off I LOVE the box art and the open window look with the front flap. Inside the flap, you see a card that has the art from the figure by Chris. The colors pop as well, with the DC Universe logo along with the 20 Year Anniversary gold label. This version of the designer vinyl series is a Hot Topic exclusive which is limited to 1000 pieces.

Paint applications on this figure are absolutely FLAWLESS. No paint runs, rubs, or errors. The blue hue to his face to show the “zombiesque” nature is shown brilliantly. All the tears on his uniform look precise and awesome. His stance is meant to look like he just stopped from a fast run and to add to that he has a dust cloud behind him to show that he stopped running.

DC Collectibles has really gained my attention with all these designer vinyl figures that they have been releasing. Chris Uminga’s take on the Flash is just another notch in the belt for DC Collectibles amazing line of Super Hero interpretations. We should also mention the great sculpting job by Joe Menna.

JQ gives the DC Artist Alley- The Flash Zombie Variant by Chris Uminga a solid 9 out of 10!!
