You have to admire Chuck for her ability to turn her bad luck into a living.
I mean teaming up with a psychic is a stroke of genius, shes gives someone bad luck which the psychic “clears” for them its pretty clever really, until it backfired of course. I love how this comic walks the line between how you feel for Chuck, on one hand here is a girl making the most of a bad hand, it’s empowering for her to right wrongs by effectively aiming her bad luck at people who possibly deserve it but on the other hand she is a total slave to her bad luck she can’t even say 13, has to be constantly aware of her surroundings down to how many items are on a table and runs the risk of hurting anyone close to her, it must be horrible so you constantly flip between feeling sorry for her and being impressed by her.
Regardless of her activities Chuck is clearly the good guy in this story and is probably in over her head but I do love a plucky underdog and if you can find a way to legitimately squeeze the word schadenfreude into an issue then you have already won in my book!
