What do you get when you mix the movie Excalibur and the goonies with a small dash of stand by me.  You get The Kid Who Would Be King.

It’s a really good and well-made Arthurian Movies. Now the story is not a retelling of any king Arthur stories but a type of continuation of the lore. The movie is about a kid and his friend being bullied by 2 older kids. He ends up finding a sword in a pillar and pulls it out.  And that’s when the story starts to get exciting.  I’m not going to spoil it since its it’s all fun after.  It stars Louis Ashbourne Serkis as Alexander “Alex” Elliot, Dean Chaumoo as Bedders, Tom Taylor as Lance, Rhianna Dorris as Kaye, Rebecca Ferguson as Morgana, Angus Imrie as Merlin, Patrick Stewart as older Merlin, Denise Gough as Mrs. Elliot.

Now before I get into the special features of the movie it came with an activity sheet (4 in all).  The special features are deleted scenes (4 in total), origins of the king (this is how a director at the age of 13 came up with the idea of the movie and too a long time to finally get it made.), young knights (this introduces the young heroes of the movie), knight school (Where the young kids learn to do some of the stunt work), the 2 Merlins (the story about how the director had cast 2 different Merlins and why he used them), meet Morgana ( What the actress did to become Morgana), movie magic (Behind the scenes of all the special effects that made up the movie), hair, makeup and costume test (this is the video that shows the costume and makeup to show how the characters would look).

Promotional material (Be the king Lay Lay Music Video The music video is pretty good., [these are Angus Imrie as Merlin to teaches you finger moves to do “magic spells” such as Merlin’s Magic Duplication, Merlin’s Magic Mind control, Merlin’s Magic Portals, Merlin’s Magic Popcorn]) and sneak peek (4 trails for movies Ferdinand, Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Long Haul, The Greatest Showman.).
