IDW’s all ages versions of Marvel characters continues with Marvel Action Spider-Man #4.

Writer Erik Burnham, with Artist Christopher Jones and colourist Zac Atkins bring us the story of J Jonah Jameson’s visit to Peter Parker’s school. Unfortunately, there is also another guest appearance, that of the villain The Looter! The ensuing battle between Spider-Man and The Looter is a bit of a romp, and we are along for the ride! J Jonah isn’t finished with Spider-Man, though. He’s got more plans in mind! A bit of ‘outsourcing’!

The artwork is appropriate for all ages, with a bit of a cartoony flair. The story’s tone and vocabulary is also in keeping with a younger readership.

IDW, Marvel Action Spider-Man #4, $3.99 for 23 pages of content. All ages

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
