Issue 3 of The Six Million Dollar Man gives us a chuckle right from the plug-in… a bolt of lightning hits Steve Austin on the front cover, lighting him up like an X-Ray, to which he replies “I’m Okay!”.

This book is MORE than okay, it’s a nostalgic trip for those of us of a ‘certain age’, as well as a funfilled adventure for younger readers. Steve Austin, the severely injured astronaut who has been rebuilt with bionic implants, is in Japan, facing bad guys from the KGB. His fellow agent is busy rekindling her Japanese family connections while Steve is trying desperately to get his ‘bionic side’ working properly. Lightning strikes can boost your battery, but fry your bacon at the same time!

Christopher Hastings’ writing is crisp and witty, and David Hahn on art, with Roshan Kurischiyanil on colours, manages to convey the mayhem and humour with a deftly balanced touch. All good and all fun to enjoy!

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
