Playmobil brings us the Ghostbuster’s vehicle from Ghostbusters II: Ecto-1A just in time for the 35th anniversary!

June 11 marks the 35th anniversary of the film sensation Ghostbusters. Ghostbusters has gone on to a successful film to an even more successful franchise. To help celebration the Ghostbusters anniversary, Playmobil has released the Ghostbusters Ecto-1A from the sequel, Ghostbusters II.

The Ecto-1A as a whole is just massive. Not only are you getting the Ecto-1A, but you get all 4 Ghostbusters, in their Ghostbuster II suits, and a VR app to catch ghosts!

The Ecto-1A is very similar to the previous released Ecto-1. There are some differences in the body, but most of the differences are on the roof of the car. There are a lot more electronics on top. On the sides are “lighted” signs that seem to move across. Playmobil does this with stickers, but the effect is still cool. I really love is the lights and siren on top. Check out of the video to see them in action:

Really cool!

The car can fit up to 4 Ghostbusters, and their gear. There are places to hang their packs. I really love Playmobil does this. To get access, you just lift off a section of the roof. The back door also opens and closes. There’s also a replaceable slim spot you can put anywhere.

The Ecto-1A comes with the 4 original Ghostbusters: Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore. They are dressed in their Ghostbusters II jumpsuit, which is a darker gray. They look incredible on the Playmobil bodies!

Peter and Egon come with their standard proton packs. Like last time they look great. Egon also comes with an updated ghost detector. No stream attachments this time, but that’s OK.

Ray and Winston come with slime throwers. Winston has slime all over his uniform. It’s little details like that that really make the difference. The slime throwers come with a shooting slime attachment which comes off easily. And there’s even a pair of gloves for Ray!

Finally, the set comes with a ghost trap. Now, this trap comes with all the accessories to use it with PLAYMOGRAM 3D Line.  You download the PLAYMOGRAM app on your phone and then place the trap where the app tells you to. The effect it gives off is just awesome. This just enhances the entire play experience here. I did my best to take a video of it, but I’m not doing it justice:

The Ecto-1A retails for around $59.99, and is available at most retailers, or you can buy direct on Playmobil’s website

Thank you so much to Playmobil for allowing us to check this out. The Ecto-1A is a must-have for kids or Ghostbusters fans of any age! I really love it, but unfortunately for me, my 6-year old son swiped it. Looks like I need to get one for myself!
