I really like this first issue of Reaver, it has a little bit of everything and has set up the story perfectly.
Madaras is at war, there has been an agreement however it looks like not everyone fully agreed. Ash would be classed as a coward as he ran from battle but to be honest seeing the breaker in action and I don’t blame him in the slightest! Now he is leading his very own suicide squad-esque team on a mission to fight magic with magic.
The team is made up of a few pretty cool characters but my favourite so far is definitely Rekala, she steals it from her first panel! Utterly psychotic but in such a charming way, she will be something to watch. Breaker is also going to be fun as he is just violence incarnate and doesn’t look the type to hold back. The villain Mahabara is just so laid back about killing bleeding dozens of people so he can divine the future by immersing himself in a vat of blood, as you do!
I’m really interested to see where this story goes as it looks like it could be pretty epic
