Mattel gives us Titans from DC Rebirth!

DC Rebirth gave us the return of both the return of Nightwing and especially Wally West. Dick Grayson had to give up his Nightwing identity for a while and go undercover as a spy, and with the new 52, Wally was noticeably missing. So to have both characters make a return made this old fan happy.

Mattel has now given us the Rebirth version of these 2 great characters as part of their DC Multiverse line!

NIGHTWING

This is a great figure. The body does seem a little thinner than the DC Universe figure, but for Nightwing, it works. The sculpt is really nice. They really captured all the details of Nightwing’s Rebirth costume. There are some blue in his hair. This is commonly used in comics to illustrate the black hair. It’s an old colorist trick.

Nightwing comes with 2 pairs of hands: one closed fists and one gripping hands.  They switch very easily. He also comes with a pair of escrima sticks. I feel the plastic is a little too soft on the sticks as they have the tendency to bend, but they do fit in the hands very snuggly.

Nightwing has all the point of articulation you come to expect from the DC Multiverse line. I especially love the wrist movements.

WALLY WEST

When the New 52 happened, most noticeably missing was Wally West. DC Rebirth brought the return of Wally West, and I for one couldn’t have been happier. He got a new suit designed by artist Brett Booth and it just looks awesome.

Mattel did an excellent job with making this figure. Mine does have paint scrape under his left eye, but this does happen some times. It’s a really nice sculpt and pretty solid figure.

Wally comes with 2 sets of hands: one grasping and straight hands. Now the hands do look a little weird in the arms. It seems like the arms overlap the hands. Definitely some type of design flaw.

Wally comes with the Ninja Batman right arm with an extra hand.

Overall I’m just glad to get another Wally because I really love this costume.

I’m glad to have both these characters in my collection. I was lucky enough to get them from Amazon, but if you’re lucky, you should be able to find them as most retail stores.
