I really like this comic, the idea of Lovecraftian horror being countered by naive niceness is brilliant.
Billie has decided to leave the eternal fight between good and evil to reverend Penrose and instead focus on community spirit! That idea alone I find hilarious but poor Penroses face when Billie interrupts a battle and makes him shakes hands is just fantastic. I love the juxtaposition of a ‘backward’ rural village being the arena of an epic battle between good and evil.
I did think that Maggie was just trying to corrupt Billie but now I think there is a genuine friendship growing and it is nice that in this day and age a satanist a d a vicar can see past all the damnation and be friends. It is possibly going to change after the whole black mass debacle but I’m sure Billie can block most of it out, I’m sure her glasses must be rose-tinted. I love the casualness that Maggie admits to being a satanist too again it really made me laugh.
I can’t recommend this comic enough it is just brilliant!
