The History: an American animated television created by Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino. It aired on Nickelodeon, from February 2005 to July 2008. It follows Aang and his group of friends as they try to defeat the Fire Nation and bring peace back to the world. The show also saw a live-action movie released in 2010. Avatar The Last Airbender continues to enjoy success via comic book series.
What’s in the boxes: The first three figures in the series which is released by DST include Aang the Last Airbender, Zuko from Fire Nation, and Katara of the Water Nation. Aang comes with 2 sets of hands, air effect, and his pet Momo. Katara comes with two sets of hands, stand, and water effect. Zuko comes with a large fireball, and stand.
The Verdict: If you’re a fan of the show then you will love these figures. They are spot on to the cartoon characters and DST paid great attention to details even down to the tattoos on Aang and the hair on Katara. Articulation as always makes posing these figures pretty easy and they can take a beating from play and posing. My only complaint was I had a hard time adding the effects to the character. Although they are very durable they were heavy and hard to keep up and in the figure’s hands. Don’t let that stop you from getting these. I found posing Aang in a meditative pose was pretty easy and even gave him a floating on-air look to it. Price point is inexpensive for the hard work put into details. Grab them before they are gone for good and here is hoping series two is coming. Guess we will find out at Toy Fair 2020.
