The Nemedian Chronicles continue in Dynamite Comics’ Red Sonja, Volume 5, issue 23.

Sonja returns to Hyrkania, but so does little emperor Cyril. He’s a mean fella, a supporter of death and belittlement. Cyril is intent on claiming the throne of Zamora, and seeking vengeance for his late papa.

So, in Angel Of Death, Part 3, writer Mark Russell plunks us in the midst of turmoil, with Red Sonja fighting for her life. It’s swords, sweat, and action. Illustrator Alessandro Miracolo and colourist Dearbhla Kelly contribute well-composed figures to accompany the decomposed bodies. The passion, beads of dripping blood, and cutting remarks all stay true to sword and sorcery form, filling our eyes with battles and bad behavior.

Dramatic, well presented, dynamic, and action-filled reading!

Dynamite, Red Sonja Vol 5, #23 $3.99 for 24 pages of content.

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
