Cinema at its best with PLAYMOBIL: Screen icon James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 launches in October

The distinctive round headlights, eye-catching radiator grille, the shapely body in radiant silver and special equipment that packs a punch – film fans of all ages simply adore the legendary Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger (1964). Probably the most famous Bond car of them all, it is rightly regarded as an iconic element of the franchise and will be released by PLAYMOBIL in October 2021 under article number 70578 – featuring James Bond, Auric Goldfinger and Oddjob.

Glad to have you on board, Mr Bond!

In Goldfinger, the third James Bond film, Agent 007 on Her Majesty’s Secret Service encounters the eccentric Auric Goldfinger, who is aided by his loyal henchman Oddjob and numerous acolytes. Defeating these adversaries will not be easy but assisted by his Aston Martin DB5, designed by Q Branch, Bond manages to triumph. And so began a relationship between man and machine that has since spanned eight Bond films and 60 years of cinema…

Bring a screen icon into your home

The 70578 James Bond Aston Martin DB5 – Goldfinger Edition from PLAYMOBIL is a worthy reproduction of its real-world role model and, just like the original sports coupé, is also a picture of elegance and sophistication – upgraded with impressive special equipment designed by Q Branch. Individual parts in a chrome-effect finish, such as the bumpers and side mirrors, faithfully reproduce the look of this film icon. One of the highlights of the PLAYMOBIL model, among many other authentic details, is the functional ejector seat, which is triggered by pushing down the exhaust pipes – and nonchalantly catapults Bond’s adversary upwards through the two-piece roof. Also included are, among other extras, the triple rotating number plates, the retractable bulletproof screen behind the rear window and the extendable ramming bumpers. Four figures are also on board: Agent 007 himself as well as Goldfinger, Oddjob and a henchman.

From mid-October, the James Bond Aston Martin DB5 from PLAYMOBIL will be available to delight fans of all ages, whether they are car enthusiasts, film buffs or passionate collectors. Ahead of the release date, prospective customers can find out more on the PLAYMOBIL social media channels.
