Superman: They’re right. I did lose control. If I can’t trust myself, how can I win back the trust of an entire planet?
Lois: One person at a time…

Following behind Batman The Animated Series, Superman The Animated Series made its debut in 1996 and ran until 2000 airing on WB kids. It was the second in series in the DC  Animated Universe. This year marks the 25th anniversary and what better way to commemorate a milestone than to release all episodes to Blu-ray. There is a total of 54 episodes and from the series developed into the Batman Superman Team which later turned into the Justice League spin-off

The series stayed somewhat true to its roots mixing both Silver age and Modern age into one giving both Clark a more dapper less goofy farm boy attitude as well as lessening Superman’s God-like powers to give him a struggle to be powerful feel to the character, especially when doing battles with enemies.

If you are a child of the nineties then you will remember these series and how popular they were. Superman the animated series lived up to the expectations that Batman laid down. All the classic villains along with a few modern ones made it to the series. The nineties cartoons I believe because of their popularity is what laid the groundwork for the future of live-action superhero movies.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been 25 years since the first episode. The feel of nostalgia lives on even now. These animations still hold up to today’s standards and are as watchable now as they were then.  So run out grab some popcorn and binge good old fashion superhero drama. Owning this series is a must.

Superman: The Complete Animated Series is available now and most of your fine locations.
