After years of training, The Knights of Rhyne finally have the opportunity to eradicate Necroton and his evil reign.in doing so could lead to victory of the Deathlyfe tournament, but that could be difficult to seize when faced by a duo such as Cobra Sun and Lona Steelrose!

Who will come out the victor? Will Lona make it to the next match of the tournament, or will she suffer the same fate as her mother?

Johnson has a knack for writing kooky characters that are silly, maniacal, vicious and fun all at once, making for charming, compelling and memorable characters that are fun to follow throughout the book. Aside from the main protagonists (Lona and Cobrasun), Johnson introduces two new characters, Alphonse and Maximillian who are brutal as fighters. Readers get to see what Lona’s mom was like and how she worked in tandem with Cobrasun during her time as a wrestler before her tragic fate that set Lona on the path that she is on in this series. Just when you think that you’ve seen enough, Johnson throws in some curveballs and surprises with various fighters that have various motivations as to why they participated in Necroton’s tournament, adding more validity to the stakes that pile up in this series. And man do the stakes pile up!

What helps to really sell the stakes is the kinetically powerful, yet beautifully fun and brutal art that Daniel Warren Johnson consistently delivers throughout this series. From every comic that he’s worked on, from Extremity, Murder Falcon, Wonder Woman: Dead Earth, and Beta Ray Bill, he continues to improve, and with each project, everything that he’s done has culminated into a fantastic fisticuffs of fury of a book. From the layouts, to the furious lineart, to Mike Spicer’s wonderful color choices and Rus Wooton’s standout lettering, it’s an enjoyable book from start to finish, and it’s worth picking up along with the previous issues. Add this to your pull list for new comic book day, because I’m already looking forward to the next issue. If you’re a fan of Johnsn’s previous work, or a fan of wrestling, or a fan of Ultimate Muscle (Kinnikuman) , this book is for you.
