Crusade Comics’ Shi: Senryaku Omnibus Kickstarter campaign launched last night to incredible returns and is closing in on $30,000.00.

“What a fantastic launch!” Stated Shi-creator Billy Tucci. “We’ve been working so hard scanning and remastering all the original art files it’s just wonderful to see that fans are just as excited about reading Senryaku as we are making it and we cannot thank them enough.”

The 1995 groundbreaking comic book series is being collected into an oversized, 240-page hardcover Shi: Senryaku Omnibus features the Art of War’s Thirty-Six Stratagems gloriously interpreted by legendary comic artists detailing the life lessons of a young Ana Ishikawa (aka, Shi) as taught to her by her grandfather. Written by Blue Devil and Amethyst creator Gary Cohn and illustrated by such greats as Jim Lee, Amanda Conner, Terry Moore, Joe Quesada, George Perez, Jimmy Palmiotti, Frank Frazetta, Adam Hughes, Joe Jusko, Jeff Smith and many more.

Over 90% of the artwork has either never been seen before or in its complete glory. Dedicated story and biographical pages will also be included along with original b/w art, roughs, essays, and design insights.

The 28-day Shi: Senryaku Omnibus Kickstarter Exclusive ends on Thursday July 6th while twenty-five days remain for the Senryaku Indiegogo which closes on Monday, July 3rd. All backers on both platforms will benefit from Crusade Comics’ #NoFanLeftBehind dual-campaign strategy regarding Stretch Goals.  Indiegogo backers have already unlocked Senryaku’s first stretch goal, to expand the book to oversized format. The campaign’s next Stretch Goal will be announced this coming Monday.

Happy Heavenly Birthday George Perez

It’s just over a year since the passing of one of comics’ greatest talents, George Perez. “George was not just one of the most prolific artists of his generation, he was truly one of the nicest and most generous people one could ever meet. It was truly an honor to have our friend play such a vital role in Senryaku.” Stated Tucci. “He is forever a beloved hero who is missed, and the world is forever dimmer without his smile.
