An epic fantasy adventure full of revenge, friendship, and betrayal
Dark Horse Books presents a new fantasy saga, The Carlyle School for Kings, a comic miniseries that will be collected in one complete paperback volume. This collection will include issues #1-4 of the original comic series and includes bonus content such as a cover art gallery and sketchbook section with designs and early art pieces from the comic. The book is written by screenwriter Nelson Greaves (Unfriended), with art by Davide Castelluccio, colors by Francesca Vivaldi (Hexware), and letters by Frank Cvetkovic (Cyberpunk 2077: XOXO).
Emmelene Heron is the daughter of traitors, but even she cannot be denied entrance to the Carlyle School for Kings. Every 30 years, the academy opens its doors to the best and brightest young people in the Kingdom and trains them in matters of heart, strength, and mind. Only the one deemed most exceptional will be crowned king and rule for the next several decades, until the King Cycle repeats. This decree was enacted thousands of years ago by Godwit himself to ensure the newly appointed King is young enough that hope and idealism still thrive within them—but if they want hope and idealism, they invited the wrong girl.
The Carlyle School for Kings (6.625” x 10.1875”, 96 pages) paperback collection will be available in bookstores on July 29, 2025 and in comic shops on July 30, 2025. The book is available for pre-order now at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, TFAW, and wherever books and comics are sold. It will retail for $19.99.
Praise for Nelson Greaves:
“Unfriended is from a new generation: filmmakers who now have the web in their bloodstream, for whom online interaction is a natural part of life. They’ve used a new language to create a smart, ingenious, subversive, and scary movie.” – The Guardian
