As we mentioned previously, the team of AMANDA CONNER and JIMMY PALMIOTTI will be hoping aboard the cool, COMIC CON THE CRUISE adventure taking place on Feb. 5th – 9th, 2025 leaving out of Tampa, FL. Rooms are filling up really fast for the cruise.

WHY A CRUISE?

This is the second comic book themed cruise Amanda and I are going on for those keeping count. The first happened way back in November of 2016- called the FAN2SEA cruise and it was a blast for us, but not so much for the people running the event. Seems this was their first event like this and they overbooked the boat with expensive guests. Not our group exactly, but they spent a fortune on the entire cast of Stranger Things, some other celebrities and spent a fortune licensing Sin City material they pushed in the gift shop that just did not sell. All that did not matter to our small gang of comic book people. We had a blast spending a few days interacting with comic book fans and the memories we had are wonderful. It was like doing a convention with little stress and lots of drinks and beautiful views.

Now the new cruise is being handled by a completely different group. The name is COMIC CON- THE CRUISE! This one is being handled by a very experienced group of lovely people that have done this before and have joined up with the San Diego Comic Con people to create another event driven cruise. I am so glad they are trying this again. The ship leaves from the Tampa area of Florida and when asked, we were super excited to get to do it again. Once again, we have a lot of fun comic book people Like Adam Hughes, Afua Richardson, Sarah Myer and some tv and film people as well. The set up for the day is like a small convention on a boat, a room with some tables for our stuff, some panels and a lot of interaction with any of you guys coming. Felicia Day is our guest host for the event and honestly, everyone needs a few days off of work once in a while, so why not come to someplace warm while the rest of the country is freezing their balls off? The really cool thing is that they are also having a cosplay themed party each and every night and have a ton of smaller events happening each day all over the shit. They want to keep everyone busy and I think that’s a great thing.

So, we will be off soon and yes, this is the same ship we went on the first cruise on, the Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Sea and we will be posting photos from the event for those that could not make it this year. The entire Paperfilms crew is going, so we will be well represented here and in Cozumel Mexico as well when we pull into port.

What you might not know is that our own AMANDA CONNER was asked to create several, original pieces of artwork that was used in promotion and events throughout the convention.  You can see some of those images here for the first time!
