I am probably the very last person in the civilized world to jump into the Sons of Anarchy. And BOOM! Comics releases the Legacy Edition Book Three this week! Who knew?

It’s a butt-kicker of a legacy, that’s for sure. And with this final Legacy Edition, we get to follow the guys up close and personal one more time.

The collected comics consist of the 12 issues of ‘Sons of Anarchy Redwood Original’. The twelve issues are written by Ollie Masters, with various artists covering the books: Luca Pizzari, Eoin Marron and Lucas Werneck. Colouring is by Adam Metcalfe and Joana Lafuente.

Like I said, it’s a butt-kicker of a series. Eighteen-year-old Jax, still reeling from his father’s death, wants to follow the family legacy. But he’s a mess. Misguided, misanthropic, missing any common sense and often missing from work, he’s also absent from having a clue. So, let’s follow him around, and watch him learn things the hard way! Masters’ dialogue rings true, and the drawings are hard-hitting comic entertainment. Jax and his cohorts get into trouble, get out of trouble, but end up in worse conditions than ever. It’s like Breaking Bad mixed with Sopranos.

A thoroughly engrossing series of issues, collected here in an affordable volume. Bonus content includes many many variant covers. Well worth your $30!

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
