If you’re looking for action, IDW Marvel’s “Marvel Action: Avengers #9” surely delivers. or is that ‘sorely’ delivers. Punches, pounding, thumping, kerranggging.

Written by Matthew K. Manning, with art by Marcio Fiorito and colour by Protobunker, this story catches us well along the route: The Avengers are helping the U-Foes in a fight against the Fear Eaters. The Fear-Eaters are now pestering Black Panther, invading his fears of his disappointed father. We join them in this chapter, Part Three.

There are lots of scenes and beats featuring each of the Avengers: Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther, Widow, Thor and so on. They each have their cameo here. It’s a power-packed-hero-packed chapter in this Fear-Filled fight!

Younger fans will appreciate the tone and subtext of this story; fight your fears, make friends, rely on those you trust.

Artwork by Fiorito is fine, with many good action panels. The heroes are expressive and emotive, making this an entertaining adventure for all!

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
