Comic Review: Catwoman #31 (DC Comics)

DC’s Catwoman #31 is awash with action and art. As in Art Gallery.

Writer Ram V invites us to join Catwoman and Shoes as they circle and prowwwl around a gallery exhibit opening. And Poison Ivy is in stasis, drugged and floating in a jar, kept prisoner in a secret location. Mr. Roy’s possessions are not safe, so whatever possessed him to think so?

Nicely paced thriller with Catwoman, Poison Ivy, the hoi polloi of the art world, with some kicks to the head all around.

Artist Fernando Blaco treads the beautiful ground between realism and ultra-realism with aplomb, giving us a rich experience in the land of plenty. Plenty of action, dramatic beats, and then coloured so well by Jordie Bellaire. Letters from Tom Napolitano. Astonishing ‘poster-worthy’ cover by Robson Rocha, Daniel Henriques, and Rain Beredo, and amazing variant by Jenny Frison.
