IDW’s Full Bleed Quarterly is an ambitious undertaking, and issue 3 is no exception. It’s exceptional, in fact, for its width and depth in covering comic books, music, and related popular culture. It delves deeper than your typical magazine, with longer articles and well-conducted interviews.

Inside this third issue, for example, are interviews with Scottish comic book writer Grant Morrison, and rock and roll musicians Kirk Hammett and Scott Ian. There are continuing comic stories, including Arizona Daisy by Roger Langridge and Lost Boys of the U Boat Bremen by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Steve Beach.

Plus lots of fiction, a discussion of how the Beatle movie Yellow Submarine was made, and much much more. It’s 206 pages of in-depth material; literally hours of reading just waiting to be discovered.

IDW, Full Bleed Quarterly hardcover Volume #3, $25.00 for 206 pages of content. Not rated.

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
