Inspired by the great Jack Kirby is a new God in town and his name is Orion,  not the nicest of Gods and full of prejudice but still a God!

His brother Kalibak has taken over a section of New Genesis and has enslaved an entire species to build a device to destroy the planet so that he can rule and finally earn the respect of his father Darkseid. Orion is not going to stand for it though and although he is also Darkseids (favourite) son he was brought up by the Highfather so fights for the right reasons. Kilabak thinks that the bugs are inferior and worthless but Forager shows that they are creative enough to come up with a plan to get the help that works.

Orion stops Kilabak but looks like he is losing ground as they battle but it is all a distraction while Forager destroys the machine. Orion snaps and his true heritage storms to the front as he destroys Kilabak but before he kills him he regains his composure and instead and possibly worse he sends him back the Darkseid broken and defeated!

The second story involves an under sea monster that Orion must battle while Seagrin explores further to discover what lurks deeper and boy does he find out and both him and Orion are forced to make an extremely hasty exit! There are a few more short stories reprinted from Jack Kirby’s work in the 70’s  introducing new gods of new Genesis that may come into play later
