Dynamite Comics releases a special edition of this year’s Halloween Special of Army of Darkness.

If Pumpkinhead wasn’t enough, then there are more horror comics coming up for this season. Even though last time, I’ve reviewed one of the comics about a Valentines Day special, but I just thought that I wanted to wait until the publishers get the Halloween or Christmas Special for the comics. As much as I know about Army of Darkness, it’s actually an old cult film in the 90s. But suddenly the movie seemed to have a pack of comedy instead of horror, and the movie is probably about some wisecrack guy from the 20th century traveling back from time with his boomstick and a chainsaw, and fighting monsters and demons that came from the darkness just to save the future. But now on this Halloween special edition, the story just takes you right up to a donkey’s ass.

Army of Darkness brings out one of the time travel stories about the Blackbeard and zombies rising from the grave. Even though the story took place in the present in 2018 instead of ’93 so I guess the comic book series is too funny, the creator still follows up with the plot. So anyway, Ash is fighting pirates from the death, including Blackbeard, and a group of teenagers who turned into zombies after walking in some graveyard by using you know what? “Black Magic.” It kinda works to have a Halloween material for Army of Darkness, so there’s nothing to talk about, and I would hope if he gets his debate on Death Battle, it would be awesome if that would happen in the future.

It’s more what you think from watching the old cult film in the 90s, however, Ash is savage for crossing through time and fighting monsters and demons from the darkness. But I’m hoping to read this more, but I might have to start watching that movie first because it’s way more interesting as it seems. But on this comic series on Dynamite, it shows more than anything to relate something from the movie, and the art is really good, the characters looked like they’re in one of the old Archie Comics, but the background and the characters’ action poses is outstanding. But still, I like one of his catchphrase saying that “This is my Boomstick” it was awesome. If you rather want to read a Halloween version from the old film, then Ash and the Army of Darkness is just for you.
