Hot on the heels of the last issue, where Shirtless Steve was brought back to our time, there is still conflict. And with Wonder Woman 62 from DC, that’s a good thing!

The regular and variant covers to this issue are splendid. Terry and Rachael Dodson contribute the main cover, and Matteo Scalera’s variant features a younger, slimmer Wondergirl, in full battle mode. Very cool.

Inside the issue, it’s confrontation time. Perhaps it IS “Peace at Any Cost”. And what is the cost in lives and decimation? Ares, the God of War, is in bigtime battle mode. But he’s young, and perhaps still ‘changeable’. Will he listen to Wonder Woman and Aphrodite? Or just fight the good fight, and devil be damned?

There is a lot of speech making and posturing in this issue, and not all of it is exciting. But overall, the balance among story conflict, great fight scenes and postulating is pretty tolerable. Writing is by G. Willow Wilson, with Xermanico on art. Colours are by Romulo Fajardo Jr.

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
