Bernie Wrightson’s artwork is always a delight to see, and therefore it’s definitely delightful to see a new printing of this volume, from IDW: Bernie Wrightson Artifact Edition.

It’s an oversized hardcover of well-reproduced original artwork pages, from Bernie’s days at DC Comics.

While it is NOT a reprinting of full stories, the Artifact Edition consists of page after page of carefully photographed original inked interior story pages, pencil roughs, and watercolour renderings.
It’s centred around Swamp Thing, but also includes Wrightson’s work on House of Secrets, House of Mystery, Unexpected, and Witching Hour. Also included are various covers for Swamp Thing, Secrets of Haunted House, Kong, and Metal Men, and drawings of Batman and Shadow.

Truly spectacular in its quality and breadth of coverage, this is a must for Wrightson admirers!

IDW, Bernie Wrightson Artifact Edition, $125.00 for 152 pages of content, Hard cover, Not rated, assume Teen

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
