There’s a new story arc with Criminal #5, from Image.

Okay, the arc is new, but the feel of the book’s the same: some people just can’t stay out of trouble. It’s June 1988, and Dan Farraday starts talking to a woman at a bar. Won’t go away. Won’t leave her alone. Things get complicated. No one tells the truth, no one is innocent, everybody hurts.

It’s soooo great to read. Criminal is written by Ed Brubaker, and illustrated by Sean Phillips. Jacob Phillips is on colours. This team is unbeatable. The comic series is solid crime drama.

Bonus material in this Cruel Summer issue of Criminal is an article entitled The Series Character; a brief discussion with Ed Brubaker, Jason Starr, Alex Segura, and Sara Gran.

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
