Black Hammer/Justice League: Hammer of Justice #2 keeps us moving along in two directions.

You see, in this Dark Horse comic, the DC Justice League and the Dark Horse Black Hammer bunch have swapped locations. So, the JL is hanging around the ‘farm’, while the BH characters need to fight aliens on Earth. Got it?

It’s kept moving along at a pretty good pace, with Jeff Lemire on script and Michael Walsh on art and presumably on colours too.

There are some good comic book moments when Bruce Wayne, driving around in a pickup truck at night, gets pulled over by a local police officer. Scene after scene pokes gentle fun at our preconceptions of the characters, and that’s when it gets really charming to tag along. Who thought such a ‘gimmick’ could be so entertaining!

Dark Horse Black Hammer/Justice League: Hammer of Justice #2, $3.99 for 24 pages of content. Rated Teen

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
