The Boss Baby returns to show them who’s…boss!

The Boss Baby: Family Business takes place sometime after the ending of the first Boss Baby film. Tim Templeton is a stay-at-home dad with 2 kids, 2nd grader Tabitha and baby Tina. His relationship with his brother, the first Boss Baby, Ted. Tim and Ted learn that Tina is a member of  Baby Corp, they are both recruited to assist her in a special mission. For them to do this, they need to de-age themselves. Now as their younger selves, Tim and Ted must learn to work together and complete the mission.

I was a fan of the first Boss Baby film, so I was looking forward to this sequel, and it doesn’t disappoint. This film has heart and is hilarious. Nice pacing and director Tom McGrath and screenwriter Michael McCullers do an excellent job moving the story along.

Alec Baldwin returns as Ted Templeton/Boss Baby and just knocks it out of the park. He just easies back into the roll playing an older Ted. James Marsden takes over Tim Templeton and does an excellent job. I do wonder why Tobey MaGuire didn’t return, but Marsden picks up the slack and just runs with it. Finally, Tina Templeton is played by Amy Sedaris and she is just wonderful. So sweet, innocent, and manipulative.

This is not just a film for kids. There are some jokes in here that will go over your kid’s heads. I always that makes a successful family film.

Really liked this sequel and highly recommend checking it out. You won’t be disappointed!

The Boss Baby: Family Business opens in theaters and on the Peacock TV on July 2nd.
