It’s a race against time as the heroes of New Earth assemble their armies and gather at OA, the homeworld of the Green Lantern Corps. But something isn’t right and all isn’t as it seems!

Who is pulling the strings, attempting to pit the heroes against each other? And how long do the heroes have until Darkseid and his army of the undead make way with their infectious plague toward New Earth?

It’s amazing how much character development Tom Taylor has provided for characters within this Elseworlds series, especially in regards to Damian and Jon as the World’s Finest of the darkest timeline. Taylor continues to take time with characters in-between moments as they prepare for the war that is at hand, focusing on the interpersonal relationships of some of the main heroes as they try to cope with some of their losses as they brave the challenges that lie ahead. What makes this issue great is the unexpected twists that continue to occur as the heroes scramble to gather their forces while Darkseid and his army of the dead continue to infect and decimate worlds beyond comprehension. Taylor maintains a solid pace, writing Darkseid’s march of infectious chaos as the heroes try to race against the dread of time and personal trauma.

Trevor Hairsine and Neil Edwards continue to handle the art duties, filling the book with wonderful art that is powered further by Andy Lanning’s inks and Rain Beredo’s coloring. Saida Temofonte provides lettering duties and places the lettering exactly where needed. This issue is another solid installment that continues to raise tension as the road to the end makes way.
