Writer Ram V pulls out all the exotic stops in Detective #1071 from DC. Ram V’s strengths are, well, at full strength in Lost Sands. Orgham Place is having a Grand Opening in Gotham City, and the Opening is seen as a pretext to criminal activity. Batman is perched on his usual, well, perch. Perchance to dream. And sure enough, we are in the midst of a story drama from long long ago.

It’s a revelation of epic proportions and of epic writing imagination, this one: the Orgham’s long running ties with the League of Assassins, dating back, well, a reallly long time ago, in the Lost City of Erhem.

The story is amazing, and so is the team of artists! Stefano Raffaele. Ivan Reis, Eduardo Pansica are pencillers, with five inkers and three colourists. The result is a solidly rendered, lushly detailed adventure. Letters are by Ariana Maher.

Back up story is a chilly tale of Mr. Freeze.

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
