Harley Quinn, in this story on Earth-48 and Earth-0, has awakened on the wrong side of the bed. She’s not laughing with the hyenas, she wants her cereal! She’s A Girl In A Crisis, part 2! Tini Howard writes a many-faceted tale of the Multiverse in Harley Quinn #29.

And what a madcap zirconian-jewel of a story this is, with Harley summoned by Zatanna, Dark Harley making some merry moves, Batman dropping by under the moon, and every dramatic turn being ‘for the benefit of the Universe’!

Sweeney Boo’s art is fun and exaggerated in a good way. The poses, the casual postures, the facial expressions. Perhaps there need to be more ‘close up’ panels and fewer ‘way in the background’ figures, but that’s a minor quibble. Colour is absolutely brilliant, and also by Sweeney Boo. Letters by Steve Wands.

Backup story and art are by Adam Warren, with colour by Alejandro Sanchez, letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou

All-fun all the time!

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
