Journey into the Quantum realm from the comfort of your home, with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has come home on digital, and while over all the film wasn’t that great, the extras are very worth it. You can check out our full review of the film here.
As I’ve mentioned many times, I truly love the way they shoot and edit movies now. The digital print seriously just looks flawless. And the same with the sound quality. There is nothing dropped here.
The home version comes with several extras.
First off is All in the Family. This is a nice look how the characters have become their own little family, and how that dynamic works in the movie. There is commentary from director Peyton Reed, screenwriter Jeff Loveness, Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Kathryn Newton, and Michelle Pfeiffer. The Lang/Pym family is definitely non-traditional, so I found it really interesting on the dynamics.
Next up is Formidable Foes. This featurette is all about the villains in the film. Why they were chosen and how they work in the overall plot. Reed and Loveness are joined by Jonathan Majors and Corey Stoll. They really explain why Kang is a great villain and why he was the perfect choice for the next big threat. What I loved most was hearing Majors on how he got into character. Some really cool stuff.
There is a Gag Reel. It’s close to 2 mins long. Part of me would have liked to see more, but I also seen some gag reels that have run way too long.
Two deleted scenes, Drink The Ooze and I Have Holes. I don’t feel like the deleted content took anything away from the film or added to the plot at all. If they would have kept these in, it still would have been the same.
Finally there is an commentary track with Reed and Loveness. I always love these. It’s really interesting to get into the creator’s heads as the various scenes are being played.
Overall, if you enjoyed Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in theaters then I recommend this for your collection. The extras really make it worth while, especially the commentary,
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is currently available on digital download and and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD May 16.
