If you are a true Bernie Wrightson fan, you will love IDW’s Bernie Wrightson Artifact Edition!

The Artifact Edition is a beautifully presented collection of high-quality reproductions of Wrightson’s horror comic art. The pages in this volume have been scanned at high resolution from the original art pages. This gives the book an awe-inspiring look; we are able to see each brush stroke, word balloon, and editorial note crisply and clearly.

What do we get inside the covers of this Artifact Edition? About 80 pages of Swamp Thing covers, splash pages and interior pages, along with occasional pencil roughs of those pages. These are not complete stories, instead are selections of pages from his 1970’s run on the title.

Also included are many complete horror short stories from DC’s Witching Hour, House of Mystery, House of Secrets, Spectre, and other comics. Plus, a foreword from Wm W Kaluta, fellow artist, and fellow Studio member. Plus, unpublished Swamp Thing and Batman drawings!

This is a marvelous volume and a real treasure for collectors who admire original art. And Bernie Wrightson’s originals, as reproduced here, will take your breath away with their detail and inventiveness.

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
