In the newest couple of chapters of Wonder Woman, life, as we know it, continues, jungle bound. You’re bound to enjoy the results. It’s DC’s Wonder Woman Come Back To Me #3.
When we last left our beleaguered hero, Wonder Woman was trapped in the ‘jungle’, perhaps a fantastic metaphor for being trapped anywhere there are dinosaurs, big bugs, Jonah Hex, some primitive tribes and now, Cheetah!
It’s a fun adventure and continues to entertain all ages. Chapter 5 and 6 are nothing to get all wrapped up and huffy about, this title is escapism in the ‘funnest’ way: Anachronistic, imaginary storyland, nothing too mind-melting. Wonder Woman experiences a fever dream, where the Justice League is banishing her. Steve Rogers, boyfriend, looks a lot like a woman on his crew. It’s hard to sleep when it keeps on raining, the levee’s gonna break. You give me buggy fever. Gimme five, it’s good to be alive.
It’s a stream of consciousness entertainment when anything at all can happen. And does. Open the floodgates, and let the writers Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti escape their captivity and run loose and free. Tom Derenick delivers amazing pencils, full of life, expression, and motion. Trevor Scott on inks, and Alex Sinclair on colour. Nice cover by Conner and Sinclair!! There is no other, jump in and get lost in the jungle with this crew!
